  19. Surely you mean TEXINPUTS?

  21. Anyway, I also have the two different versions of LaTeX installed.  I
  22. simply chose to leave the old version alone (with the old virtex); the
  23. new version is installed with the new virtex.  Now we're observing a
  24. lot of users switching to LaTeX2e, even users who hate changes ;-)
